A special meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at the Village Hall. Mayor Maedl opened the meeting at 8:30 a.m. Also present were: Deputy Mayor Conley, Trustee Bateman, Trustee Herriven, Trustee Kirkpatrick, and Clerk-Treasurer Schweigert. Daniel Dodge, 21 Mechanic Street, was also present. A motion was made by Trustee Bateman, and seconded by Trustee Kirkpatrick, to move into executive session for the purposes of discussions of matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal, or removal of a particular person or corporation. Carried. Executive session opened at 8:31 a.m. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Conley, and seconded by Trustee Herriven, to return to general session. Carried. Mayor Maedl reconvened general session at 9:10 a.m. A motion was made by Trustee Bateman, and seconded by Trustee Kirkpatrick, to appoint Daniel Dodge to the position of Village Coordinator at a wage of $45,000 per year, beginning January 8, 2007. Carried. The vote was unanimous. A memo will be sent to the public works employees that Mr. Dodge will meet with them in the Board Room on Monday, January 8, 2007, at 7:30 a.m. Mayor Maedl wanted the Board to know that she was given a verbal offer of $1,000 for the property on Mountain Road that housed the well. Tim Van Buren owns all of the surrounding property and would like to buy this. Mayor Maedl will contact Dan Seaman to find out if the Board can accept this offer or if it must accept fair market value for it.
